What did you enjoy the most?

One of the things was when the teachers began leaving me on my own- it was a massive confidence boost as they trusted me to teach their classes.

What did you enjoy the most?

I enjoyed getting to know so many different people, many of whom I will keep in contact with both professionally and socially.

Why did you choose to train with BBTTP?
BPD SCITT offered what most providers don’t: diverse placements notably 2 longer term placements but also daily placements at diverse schools in the area and a more flexible approach to teacher training.

What experiences did you most benefit from?
Talks from external speakers, the general CT curriculum and the science subject sessions were particularly helpful.

Why did you choose to train with BBTTP?
I had already been accepted onto the Ringwood school teacher training course, but I had heard the scitt had a good reputation. I was hoping my placements would be local as I had three young children.

What experiences did you most benefit from?
Being at two different/ opposite schools, one private and small/ local, and one a normal large comp. Both with different aspects of art offered on the curriculum.

What are your future plans?
I currently work p/t at two schools. One local as an art teacher teaching primary and secondary art. The other in Southampton as a SEN art teacher. My plans are to use therapy in art to support those with mental health needs. I am doing an art therapy course for art teachers called ‘articulate’ in sept online. I would like to introduce more therapy with art and sen support into mainstream schools. Also still thinking about doing an MA in art therapy.

What did you enjoy the most?

Learning the science or theory behind teaching/techniques- it really helps to understand why we do what we do.

Why did you choose to train with BBTTP?
BPD TP has good reputation for teacher trainings and has many years of experience. It is also close to my home.

What experiences did you most benefit from?
The lectures and the reflection sessions were really helpful.

What are your future plans?
I really enjoy teaching, I will start a PhD course and do some research on teaching differences between China and the UK. And hopefully I will be able to teach in a university in the future.

What do you wish you had known or worked out faster?

Using the behavior system doesn’t stop the students from liking you. Using it inconsistently does!

Working in different schools, meeting a wide range of teaching styles and ‘magpieing’ the best bits.

Building relationships with students, when you have a classroom of high expectations and mutual respect. Lessons are truly very fun!

To many to pick just one! I loved training sessions, making friends on the course and sharing experiences. This made all the difference when things got stressful. Getting to experience teaching and students in 2 schools has been fabulous!

Why did you choose to train with BBTTP?
Local to where I lived and offered the best learning experience.

What experiences did you most benefit from?
Pastoral exposure week that I got at my second placement really helped me focus in and build a good picture of future career progression. Also the mock interviews were really helpful

What are your future plans?
Stay in teaching. I will look to move schools after my ECT and hopefully move into a pastoral role focusing on behaviour and safeguarding.

It had a welcoming friendly atmosphere and was close to home

What experiences did you most benefit from?
Having the in person training sessions which gave me the opportunity to meet other trainees, share our experiences and make life long friends.

What are your future plans?
Stay in my current role with a look towards moving into a pastoral role, something that I discovered I was truly passionate about during my training year with BBTTP.
